Zurbrüggen Wohnzentrum GmbH, Unna
Using ERGO-Basic packing tables and ERGO-light office desks, ERGO-line has brought about a lasting improvement in the logistics and administrative processes at the Zurbrüggen Home Centre.
As the company continued to grow, the demands on logistics, dispatch and internal processes increased significantly. The existing workstations in the packaging and administration departments were no longer able to meet these demands to any great extent. In particular, there was a lack of ergonomic solutions that would enable staff to work efficiently whilst reducing physical strain.
In some cases, work processes were not optimally structured, resulting in unnecessary walking distances and a lack of clear organisation in the provision of materials. At the same time, productivity in the dispatch department needed to be increased without placing an additional burden on staff.
There was also a need for optimisation in the administrative area. Here, modern, ergonomic workstations needed to be created that would facilitate focused work whilst reducing noise levels.
ERGO-line developed a comprehensive workstation concept for logistics and administration. At the heart of the design were ERGO-Basic packing tables, some of which were fitted with integrated scales. This allowed weight checks to be integrated directly into the workflow, eliminating the need for additional steps and boosting efficiency.
To improve the flow of materials, manual roller conveyors were installed, facilitating transport between the individual workstations and ensuring a continuous workflow. In addition, baskets for filling materials were integrated, enabling the structured and readily accessible provision of packaging materials.
ERGO-light desks with acoustic panels were used for the office workstations. These ensure an ergonomic workplace design whilst reducing disruptive noise. ERGO-Basic desks were also used as flexible side tables.
Anti-fatigue mats were installed to alleviate strain on staff, reducing physical strain particularly during standing tasks. Cutting mats also facilitate the processing of packaging materials and protect the work surfaces.
Overall, the result is a modern and high-performance workplace solution that optimises processes, boosts efficiency and simultaneously improves working conditions in the long term.

The newly designed workstations support key processes in the furniture retail sector and ensure a clear structure in logistics and administration:
