Greater efficiency thanks to ergonomic packing stations

ERGO-line developed a bespoke solution for modern packing workstations for Swiss Post Cargo CH AG in Villmergen. Ergonomics, efficiency and flexibility were specifically combined to reduce the physical strain on staff and optimise processes in the long term.

Client background and challenges

With rising parcel volumes and increasing demands for speed and quality, the Villmergen logistics centre faced a key challenge: the existing packing workstations were not optimally suited to the needs of the staff.

Different body sizes, repetitive movements and long periods of standing led to physical strain. At the same time, processes needed to become faster, more structured and error-free. The search was on for a solution that was not only functionally sound but also put people at the centre.

Solution and result

Working closely with the client, ERGO-line has developed a well-thought-out overall concept for modern packing stations. At the heart of the system are modular ERGO-Basic workstations featuring electrically height-adjustable desks that can be individually adapted to suit each person.

In addition, the ERGO-Tower is used; with its compact design and modular configuration, it has been specially developed for use in logistics and industry. Thanks to its fixed floor anchoring and integrated technology, it enables ergonomic and efficient working even in the smallest of spaces and can be flexibly adapted to different requirements.

The concept is rounded off by integrated weighing systems, intelligent storage structures and ergonomic aids.

Additional elements such as label holders, monitor arms, folding box dispensers and customised accessory solutions ensure streamlined workflows and minimal movement. At the same time, ergonomic floor mats have been introduced to significantly reduce strain during standing tasks.

The result is a workplace that adapts to your needs: efficiently organised, flexibly adaptable and noticeably less stressful for staff.
